Scenario Page

Researchers at 4CMR and Cambridge Econometrics have developed the model E3MG as a tool to assess different emissions scenarios.

The NewEDGE project will update and improve the E3MG model, using it to investigate a range of policy scenarios and policy portfolios, and produce assessments in a form appropriate for policy makers. This page will show the results of these assessments and keep you up to date on the latest scenario evaluations.

4CMR, and our strategic partner Cambridge Econometrics,
have a pedigree in scenario development and policy assessment.  Recently we produced a report for the Climate Group and The Office of Tony Blair, using the E3MG suite of models to assess the economic benefits of collaborative action on climate change through this type of assessment (see the Multi Media section to view a video of the former Prime Minister's comments).

The scope and findings of the report were very timely. In the words of Tony Blair:

"We wanted to know whether there was an advantage, and how large it would be, if countries act collaboratively rather than individually. What is immediately striking is the enormous cost savings that can be achieved if countries work together"
